your cameras are making it hard to connect with you
I recently decided to start a free mail club.
In one day, it was designed. By the next day, I packed 40 envelopes and delivered them to my neighbors ‧₊˚♡彡.˚
This blog is typically not a place to rant. So before I do, I wanna clarify a few things:
- Having a security system is more than okay. I have one.
- I'm in Texas, USA, which has some of the highest rates of human trafficking and gun violence. OF COURSE people feel unsafe.
- I delivered every letter, completing a project I've put off for months. I didn't have any negative interactions with any of the people I delivered to (I left my email in the letters, so that could change lol). Overall I'm pretty happy. I don't want to give the impression that this project was a negative experience. Far from it!
I hated seeing how suspicious and isolated we are from each other. Every house has a camera above the garage and a ring camera by the door. They blink when you get close. Some of them even speak.

I'm too tired to talk about the surveillance state in my country. All I'm gonna say is that a lot of us are complicit (indadvertently or otherwise).
Government/Corporations:
"We don't even have to put Flock cameras in neighborhoods. All the civilians will do the work for us. AND THEY'LL PAY FOR IT THEMSELVES. EVERYONE WILL BE WATCHED FOR EVERY MOMENT THEY STEP OUTSIDE LESSSSGOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!"
Okay I'm done. Just wanted to scream in the void.
